The heat!

Have I mentioned the heat lately?
The heat & humidity in Louisiana & tx has been oppressive & impressive.
It has made a big impression on me for sure. And all the locals we meet say this was a mild day or this was a nice day. Then I'm worried about the really bad days!

We live for A/C! I've never been a fan of air conditioning but now try to go from one air conditioned place to the next as,promptly as possible. No running of course because I break a sweat just breathing!

One of the many nice things about Kwik Kar in Lake Charles was the ice cold waiting room. Very clean and well appointed with lots of free drinks was nice too. But the A/C was the best!

We have started running the dash A/C in the on full tilt all day. It used to be an option but not in the last week. Yesterday with the A/C on full tilt it was still very warm in the RV. The heat of the sun made the top side of the steering wheel uncomfortable and the dash extremely warm. And the heat from the engine that is situated partly back under the cockpit doesn't help either. Lucy suffers from the heat in the road most because she spends most of her time in the seat behind mollie or me where the dash air doesn't reach as well. Mollie trades places with her some to spell her.

As soon as we get to the campsites I plug in the 30 amp electric and turn on the cabin air before I do any other set up to cool down the sleeping areas as soon as possible.

Can't wait to get near the ocean again in hopes it will be a bit cooler.

Back on the road today by 8am or sooner. Trying to put in some long days again to make up some time.

  1. stop at a CVS and buy Lucy a portable fan. Or a water bottle that has a sprayer and a fan attached. They are battery operated. Very cooling. Denise posting from another computer. that's why I'm posting as anonymous! :)
