stayed another night on Ocean City!

it wasnt planned, and after a 4 day delay in our departure we didnt really need any more delays, but i couldn't resist going to Frontier Town Western Theme Park! it reminded me of the Land of Makebelieve I grew up with and I wanted Lucy to expereince something like it. She was totally into the fun of the old western town and the wild west shows. the train ride was powered by a REAL steam driven engine complete with fire box, coal and water supply. it was awesome! so we stayed at the theme park for the morning and early afternoon instead of going to the beach as planned. and then had to extend our campsite stay another day so we can go the beach tomorrow. after the extention of our stay was out of the way i took Lucy to the water park on site that is free for campers. Mollie rode her bike, sketched and had some quiet time. i made tacos with meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and rice for dinner. all done in the RV kitchen (i was very proud to have two burners and the gas oven all working at the same time). we rode a lot of bikes getting around today so we were all hungry. this eve we went back to OC boardwalk for a couple of hours before returning earlier than last night to the site. Mollie and I played catch with the lacrosse sticks while Lucy went for a swim then a walk on the docks. Mollie and i later joined Lucy and we all returned to the RV for a quiet evening. Plan is to break camp in the AM after granola and bacon. check out and park the RV in the parking lot then catch the shuttle to the OC beach for 3 hours before returning the hit the road. exact destination unknown but heading for the bay bridge tunnel then into VA toward the Blue Ridge Parkway. will look for a camp site once we have a sence of where we'll be toward 5 or 6pm. will post more pix from Frontier Town.

  1. Those pics of frontier town bring back so many good memories. I'm sure Julie is feeling the same way. Plus Tony's! Good times. I wanted to work at Tony's too. My roomies had all the fun working there. I was stuck in a boring clothing store! If only I could talk to my teenage self!

  2. We did have a super fun summer, Denise... at least what I remember of it. ;) And keep in mind, we weren't teenagers -- I was 21, you must have been 20!
