We had a great stay in Las Vegas with Tim (we missed you Yvonne!)
Tim greeted us and showed us the pool in the back yard and we jumped in (almost immediately)
Tim & Yvonne’s house is very nice and spacious and the back yard is an oasis in the desert!
The back yard has a nicely sized pool with palm trees, flowering plants and a nice little lawn.
And all the pool toys and floats one could ever want.
After we dried off, Tim took us to Panera Bread for dinner and almost to Whole Foods for shopping (but they were closed)
So we opted for the Las Vegas strip instead to get a feel for the night life and all that Vegas has to offer
Tim took us to Bellagio Casino and Hotel where we saw an amazing 4th of July themed display of in flowers, the world’s largest chocolate fountain, glass art worth $10-20K each, then a ceiling with hundreds of pieces of the glass art. Then we toured the casino floor until the smoke was too much and we headed home.
The next day Lucy hit the pool again while I finished the laundry.
Tim took us to Whole Foods where we had lunch and did our food shopping. We ate before we shopped of course!
Thank you Tim for a great stay, sorry it was so short but you made an impression.
Thx so much for your great hospitality!
We finally said our goodbyes midafternoon and headed for Los Angelis
We were planning to stay in a campground shy of LA but got our wires crossed and were in LA before we knew it.
We stayed in Long Beach and headed for downtown LA this AM.
We went to the American Girl store, Free People and many more
We walked some of the walk of fame stars walk then to the hills of Hollywood to see the “Hollywood” sign.
It was 5p by then so we headed to Calabasas to connect with Mollie’s friend Julia or “Jules”
Jules and her mom Doris greeted us an the gate and we headed up the hill to a lovely, spacious house that over looked the valley below.
Lucy hit the pool with ‘Bella, 12 while Mollie reconnected with Jules, who attended Hawthorn Valley Farm Camp with Mollie for a number of years.
I took a quick dip to cool off as well.
Doris and her husband Rory made a very nice dinner that was all shared outside at a table set up on the edge of the lawn to enjoy the sunset and overlooking the twinkling lights of the valley below. Dinner was great and the lively conversation was quite enjoyable. Hope to share some pix of the dinner get together soon.
Starting north tomorrow at some point but doubt it will be early. A couple of days to San Fran to see Uncle Jay and Aunt Louise!
Thx for travelling with us!
Jay
Maybe you can see Yvonne while you are in San Fran. Did you see the Bellagio Fountains? Hope you got to see the fountains in action. Too bad your visit with tim was so short. Have fun in CA! Denise
