We traveled from Atlanta to Albertsville, AL which was only a 4 hour journey with a stop for lunch. The girls had eaten as we traveled so I pulled into a TJ Maxx so the girls could shop while I made myself some lunch.
We arrived at the pullins' house to a warm welcome from jerry, Pam, john, Sarah, abby & Thomas. We were put up in a nice apartment over the garage that included a freshly stocked refrigerator and very comfortable accommodations.
Pam & jerry had talked to a garage they knew about looking at our A/C which was working fine but was dripping condensate onto mollie's feet so we headed there after unlidibg a few things for our overnight stay. The 3 of the pullins kids road with us in the RV to the garage and played games with mollie & Lucy like hot potato, I spy & news games we hadn't played before.
Upon arrival at the garage Randall, the owner, quickly assessed & corrected the plugged drain issue that also corrected the squeaky fan. We left the RV with randall in the hopes he could look at a leaky vent pipe as well.
Next we headed to the farm for a quick visit to see what the tornado had done and how the house was being renovated. The destruction from the storm was extensive in the area with trees down everywhere.
All of the 4 or 5 barns had been destroyed to some degree. In one case there were complete walls missing. The house was generally spared from the storm.
It was HOT! And HUMID! what we were told was a mild and pleasant June day was very uncomfortable in the 90s with high humidity. Anywhere out if the A/C and I was sweating just from breathing!
We headed to the local lake for a swim to cool off before heading back to the house. The water was as warm as Grampie's pool! And very shallow so we all pilled into the water for varying degrees of swimming and wading. Refreshed, we headed for Pam's house for dinner. As dinner was finishing the kids played at various activities while the adults caught up on conversation.
Dinner of a roast slow cooked in a crock pot and potatoes was a welcome and hearty meal.
Off to bed now. Hope to pack up and head for the lake and wait to hear on the RV. When its ready we'll say goodbye and head for NOLA (New Orleans, LA).

What day will you be at Alexandra’s? What about renting from Redbox along the way? It’s only $1 a night and you can return it anywhere. Here’s the link… www.redbox.com There are redboxes all over the country. I’ll let you know when I get the dvd's in the mail. Also, I found a bunch more movies that were not on the shelf. Will send the list for Lucy’s perusal soon. Love to all, D
ReplyDeleteWill check out redbox. Next tues or weds at Alexandra's. Thx!
ReplyDeleteI think you need to post the map again and show your progress. You've been thru: NY, NJ, DE, MD, VA, NC, (SC?), GA and now AL! Are you still collecting bumperstickers?
ReplyDeleteWe are collecting bumper stickers for sure. The girls take great pleasure in putting each new one in the back of the RV as sion as they can. Will ponder how to post an updated map. Optimal it would show our actual route but that may be a stretch. All sounds like a project for an eve when we get into a campground early and we have WiFi so I can use the lap top. We didn't actually go thru SC because we were in the western part of NC that borders GA.
