A touching moment

Before we shared dinner together last evening we gathered for grace. Thomas, 1st grade, volunteered to say the grace. I was very impressed by 1) his volunteering to speak in front of a group that included near strangers 2) the very clear and appropriate choices of content in his grace and 3) I was very touched and had tears in my eyes after he thanked God for bringing friends (us) to him and asking for our safe travels.

Mollie & Lucy had a genuinely good time making new friends with the Pullins kids during the afternoon & evening. I was pleased & proud of the girls for how well they connected with & played with & enjoyed the kids all of whom have some level (although one wouldn't know it it some cases) of disability.

These moments reinforce many things:
The value of strong families with good parents teaching good values (well done Jerry & Pam)

The value of meeting new people in new places and having new experiences to expand our understanding of people in the many ways they may be created.

And the value to me personally of making this journey with my girls and making these connections with friends across the country.

I'm having a great time on this adventure spending time with Mollie & Lucy, making new friends and connecting with old, planning our routes and stops, making meals in the RV and meeting any need that arrives.

Please all keep us in your thoughts and prayers for a safe journey. We sure are having fun!
